Exactly one week from the time I write this, at 5pm Wednesday 2 July, we should be boarding for our 5:30 departure from SFO. According to SAS we can't get seat assignments in advance, but only at check-in. So we'll try to be good and early for that. Which will leave time for a blog post before take-off!
We plan to pack pretty light for this trip. Besides Marian's handbag, and the leather carrying case with two computers, we'll have one small carry-on size bag each.
Which we will check, not attempt to carry on. Because we are dagdrivere—the Danish word for flâneurs, idle wanderers. We will check the bags and amble onto the flight all unburdened and carefree. And if it takes a while to get them back, ingen bekymringer (no worries).
By the way, Danish pronunciation is not exactly "see-and-say". Dagdrivere, for example, according to the Google translate bot, sounds like dah-three-wuh. More or less.
